When Mia and Steen took over this orchard, they decided to convert it to organic leaving the existing trees intact. They would work with nature to restore them.

The process has been slow and in the beginning yield dropped significantly.

But they keep on preserving already seeing the signs of life coming back.

Their vision is to create a circular farm powered by the sun. The cut tree branches and grass decompose back into the earth. The sun powers the apple and the farm allowing them to produce value added products like fruit popsicles.

In the heart of the Burren, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland, she has added a thriving new dimension to 151 hectares of historic land.

While the farm itself has been in her husband Cathal’s family for over two centuries, the evolution into a premier eco-tourism destination belongs to Brónagh.

What if regenerative farmers got paid what their work is actually worth?

That's the question Miguel Angel Gomez Tenorio set out to answer when he co-founded @laalmendrehesa in 2016 alongside 21 organic farmers in the Altiplano region of Granada.

The altiplano in one of Europe's most ecologically fragile regions. Farmers here were producing regenerative almonds and still selling them at bulk commodity prices.

Almendrehesa changed that.

By transforming raw almonds into finished products like flour, oil, and protein powders they were able to come together and access international premium markets returning the higher margin directly to the growers.

Since 2016, the network has grown from 21 farmers managing 1,200 hectares to over 60 farmers across 3,000 hectares. More than €4 million in fair premiums have been paid directly back to local farmers.

But for Miguel, this was never only about almonds.
It's about proving that regenerative agriculture can work as a business model, in one of the hardest climates in Europe, on family farms, not corporate ones.

Scave Portugal was once a sun-baked, inert landscape.

John Broad saw it as an opportunity.

By applying the principles of syntropic agriculture, he transformed a two-hectare pilot plot, planting 25,000 plants, including 900 productive fruit trees and 8,000 support species, chosen to kickstart biological processes using heavy biomass and straw mulch.

Scave Portugal was once a sun-baked, inert landscape.

John Broad saw it as an opportunity.

By applying the principles of syntropic agriculture, he transformed a two-hectare pilot plot, planting 25,000 plants, including 900 productive fruit trees and 8,000 support species, chosen to kickstart biological processes using heavy biomass and straw mulch.

The results are already visible.

In 20 years, John plans to have the full 180 hectares transformed, reversing desertification, building a centre of excellence, and generating data to drive policy change across the EU.

Fattoria La Vialla, Italy's largest biodynamic farm, is built on a belief rooted in decades of hard work and a vision for a better future.

For nearly 50 years, the 2,459-hectare farm has been cultivated without synthetic chemicals or pesticides, in complete harmony with nature, sustained by 202 dedicated employees.

Grapes become wine, olives become oil, even olive wastewater becomes health shots. Everything grown is transformed on-site. The farm has been climate positive every year since 2007 and has helped 91 farming families across Italy convert to organic.

Francesc Font and wife Nuri have spent the past 15 years turning Finca Can Font, a 45-hectare olive, grape, and cereal farm in the Girona region of Catalunya, into a farm that works for people, nature, and the bottom line.

Edmondo Soffritti @edmondosoffritti did not grow up dreaming of becoming a regenerative farmer. He grew up on La Petrosa, the family lands his grandparents bought in the 1950s, along with the 19th-century farmhouse that still anchors the farm today.

For three generations, the Soffritti family produced maize and wheat to feed the buffalo herds supporting Cilento's dairy economy.

Although the fields looked productive, yields became unstable each season, costs rose, and the land grew exhausted. The local cooperative invited Colombian agronomist Jairo Restrepo Rivera to give a talk.

It was the first time anyone in Cilento described the soil as a living organism and farmers as custodians of life rather than operators in an industrial chain. For Edmondo, it felt like someone was describing exactly what he had sensed for years but couldn't put into words.

That meeting set Edmondo on the path to regeneration. It felt like a summons. His journey grew slowly, rooted in doubt, curiosity, and hope.
