Why we need your help to find inspiring farmers working with nature
Across Europe, pioneering regenerative farmers are demonstrating what is possible when agriculture works with nature.
Yet too often, their knowledge, experience and leadership remain disconnected from the people, organisations and opportunities that could amplify their impact.
At Top 50 Farmers, we believe that discovering pioneering farmers is the first step towards changing this. By bringing these farmers into a pan-European community, increasing their visibility and strengthening connections across the food and farming ecosystem, we create new opportunities - not only for individual farmers, but for regenerative agriculture as a whole.
Because when pioneering farmers become more visible, society reconnects with the people growing our food. Their ideas travel further, new collaborations emerge, the value of their work becomes more widely recognised, and the conditions for regenerative agriculture to become the societal norm grow stronger.

Fifty farmers are selected
Our Selection Committee reviews all applications and selects fifty pioneering regenerative farmers to join the 2027 Top 50 Farmers programme.

We are looking for farmers shaping the future of agriculture whether they are already well known or still largely under the radar.

Why 50?
Top 50 Farmers is not about identifying the "best" farmers.
Across Europe, thousands of regenerative farmers are making extraordinary contributions to the future of agriculture.
Every year, we select fifty pioneering farmers whose leadership, innovation and commitment can inspire others and strengthen the regenerative movement.
By increasing their visibility, expanding their networks and creating new opportunities, we aim to empower their work, and through them, contribute to a stronger future for regenerative agriculture.
Selection is not a judgement of who is "better" than others. It reflects our ambition to build a diverse and representative community of pioneering regenerative farmers from across Europe, representing different countries, farming systems and stages of the regenerative journey.
While only fifty farmers are selected each year, we know there are many more whose work deserves recognition. Farmers who are not selected are warmly encouraged to apply again in future years as both their journey and our community continue to grow.
Ultimately, Top 50 Farmers is not about recognising the "best" farmers. It is about building the collective power needed to accelerate the regenerative transition.
