Antonella Ilaria Totaro

Top 50 Farmers is an acceleration platform paving the way for regenerative agriculture to be scaled from soil to gut.
We identify the farmers who are role modeling what the future of farming looks like and share their stories. We also connect them with industry executives and pioneering thought leaders to unlock new opportunities across the value chain.

Antonella Ilaria Totaro is a researcher, communicator, and storyteller working at the intersection of innovation, food, and agriculture.

Her work lights on how circular and regenerative models can transform the way we produce, work and invest in, and think about food systems. She leads production and communication for the Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast alongside Koen van Seijen, amplifying the voices of entrepreneurs, investors, and pioneers shaping the future of regenerative business and finance.

As a project manager at RegenEarth, Antonella contributes to EU-funded initiatives such as AI 4 Soil Health and the Open Geospatial Carbon Registry (OGCR), connecting science, technology, and on-the-ground practice.

She holds a PhD in Innovation for the Circular Economy from the University of Turin and works as a journalist for Edizioni Ambiente and Renewable Matter, bridging storytelling, entrepreneurship, and systems change.

Antonella believes that knowledge, transparency, data and patient capital are essential to scaling regenerative practices and accelerating transformation toward a fair and clean food system.

As a member of the Top 50 Farmers Selection Committee, she brings expertise in regenerative business models, circular economy innovation, and strategic storytelling.
