Top 50 Farmers is an acceleration platform paving the way for regenerative agriculture to be scaled from soil to gut. We identify the farmers who are role modeling what the future of farming looks like and share their stories. We also connect them with industry executives and pioneering thought leaders to unlock new opportunities across the value chain.
Marin Rose is an Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen, where she combines a strong scientific background with a lifelong passion to transforming food systems. With a PhD in crop diversification and food security Marin has explored the potential of neglected and underutilized species (NUS), including research on breadfruit on the Hawaiian islands, highlighting opportunities for climate adaptation and food resilience.
Over the years, Marin has led and contributed to multiple EU projects fostering collaboration across European food initiatives. Currently, she co-coordinates the Horizon Europe project CLEVERFOOD, which brings together youth, farmers, investors, researchers, and policymakers to drive a fair, circular, and plant-forward food system across Europe.
Beyond her academic work, Marin serves as Board Chair of Foodprint Nordic, where she champions regenerative farming, biodiversity, healthy soils, and sustainable business practices. Her work consistently emphasizes the power of collaboration and the importance of ensuring diverse voices, including smallholder farmers, SMEs, and underrepresented communities help shape the future of food.
Marin believes diversification is essential for building more resilient food systems that restore ecosystems and empower communities to produce healthy, sustainable food.
As a member of the Top 50 Farmers Selection Committee, Marin brings a close and attentive eye to the selection process, drawing on her extensive experience with evaluation procedures and deep knowledge of food systems.
